Tutoring and monitoring

To reach the objective and successfully implement the training objectives, the right track must be followed. When it comes to training, both in physical classrooms and on-line, the fundamental element of guidance is provided by the tutor.

Although tutors carry out a number of tasks, their activities can be grouped into two main categories:

  • Technical details – organization. Tutors help students solve any technical problems, such as access to the learning management system or training materials, but also guarantee that the course agenda is respected by reminding learners of any appointments or deadlines and informing them of any new materials available or of new events – in the classroom or on-line.
  • Society – communication. Tutors welcome students to the physical or virtual classroom, gather opinions, suggestions and ideas on singular or collective events, and constantly support learners
in their training programme, especially from an emotional and personal viewpoint. Tutors must therefore be able to feel any discouragement of individual learners or of the group, encouraging and motivating participants.

Simulware’s suggestion is to:

  • train/support the company’s members of staff who will work as tutors
  • follow the group of tutors from the company and support them in terms of methods and approach with learners
  • provide a complete tutoring service through company’s members of staff;
  • monitor the development of classrooms and report to on-line tutors.
